Calliope, Muse of Epic, Philosophy, and Rhetoric
Calliope (Greek: Καλλιόπη) is a daughter of Zeus and one of the nine muses in Greek mythology. Her name means "of the beautiful voice," and she was the muse of heroic epic, philosophy, and rhetoric. Her attributes are the writing tablet and stylus, as well as the scroll and trumpet. Sometimes this can be changed to a wreath of gold or laurel. Calliope had two sons, Linos and Orpheus. She appears, among other places, in the opening lines of Virgil's Aeneid.
