Nemesis Greek Goddess Veronese Design
Nemesis is the merciless goddess of just vengeance, but also of equality. Her name means "the awarding/dispensing of deserved punishment."
Nemesis was also adopted by the Romans and retained her old name. Triumphant generals offered sacrifices to her, and during the Empire, she was the patroness of gladiators.
Her origins remain shrouded in mystery. Her mother is the primordial goddess of the night named Nyx. Her father is thought to be Erebos or Oceanus.
