Morgana le Fay, also known as Morgain, Morgaine, or Morgane, was the daughter of Igraine and Gorlois and half-sister of King Arthur. She was a powerful fairy, magician, sorceress (or witch) in the Arthurian legend.
Morgana was the niece of Viviane (half-sister of Igraine), child of King Arthur's mother, high priestess of Avalon, who, like Merlin, was a Celtic druid. According to stories, she was taken to the island of Avalon as a young girl by Viviane to be trained as a priestess.
