The creation of Adam - The Genesis Michelangelo

The Creation of Adam is part of the fresco on the vault of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City painted by Michelangelo around 1511.

The work is a representation of the Biblical story from the book of Genesis in which God the Father breathes life into Adam. Of the frescoes after Genesis in the Sistine Chapel, it is the fourth image chronologically in the story. Michelangelo completed this fresco as one of the last in the series. The work measures 5.7 by 2.8 meters.

Cold cast bronze is a new art form of casting in which polyresin is mixed with bronze powder, so that a very accurate statue gets an authentic bronze appearance. Each piece is then colored and finished by hand, creating this unique work of art.
