Venus de Milo Veronese Design 28cm
The Venus of Milo or Aphrodite of Melos is a world-famous Greek marble sculpture. The statue is believed to have been made around 130 BC and it is thought that Alexandros of Antiochia was the sculptor. The sculptor used the white marble of Paros, famous in antiquity. The statue was found by a farmer in a field on the Aegean island of Melos (Ital.:Milo) in the Cyclades in 1820.
Today, the statue can be viewed at the Louvre in Paris. The Venus of Milo is considered a symbol of eternal beauty.
