Zeus and Hera were actually brother and sister. They were also united by a sacred marriage between a sky god and an earth goddess. Their marriage was the result of one of Zeus's seduction tricks. Together they had a number of children:
Ares (god of war)
Hebe (goddess of youthful beauty and giver of the gods)
Eileithyia (goddess of birth)
Zeus had terrible problems with his wife's jealousy when it came to his amorous outings. He once hung her in the great hall on Olympus, as a target for the other gods.
Hera leaves her husband at some point and heads for the island of Euboeae, off the Greek coast. Desperate Zeus manages, albeit with great difficulty, to reconcile with Hera and brings her back. Unfortunately, this reunion lasted only a short while.
