Tara is a prominent female deity in Tibetan Buddhism, often regarded as the ‘mother of all Buddhas’, symbolising compassion, wisdom and active help. She is revered as a saviour who grants enlightenment. The best-known forms are Green Tara (protection, action) and White Tara (long life, healing).
