In Norse mythology, Valkyries are divine women, often depicted as warriors, who lead the fallen to Valhalla, the hall of the god Odin. They choose who dies on the battlefield and who gets to live, and bring the brave warriors to Odin's hall to prepare for Ragnarok, the final battle.
