A griffin, also known as a bird of prey, is a hybrid mythical creature that symbolises the supremacy of two realms: the earth (its lion-like body) and the sky (the head and wings of an eagle). It is a hybrid creature like the centaur, the dragon and the hippogriff. Apart from the features mentioned, it also has the ears of a horse and a Mohican crest that seems to be made of fish scales.
