Frédéric François Chopin, born Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin (1810–1849), was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the Romantic period. He is widely regarded as the greatest composer Poland has ever produced and is considered one of the greatest composers in music history. His music, a personal fusion of Western European classical elements and traditional Polish ones, utilises the expressive and technical characteristics of the piano more fully than the music of any other composer.
